Persephone's Choice, oil on canvas, 40" x 30"

My solo show, "Into the Light," at the Bunker Center for the Arts opened on Friday, March 1 and will be up until March 30. There will be a closing reception and Artist Talk on Friday, March 29 from 5:00 to 9:00pm with the artist talk at 6:30.

This exhibit brings together works that explore themes I’ve worked on for many years. I’m interested in the psychological impact of long-standing myths and belief systems that are lodged, almost surreptitiously, in the fabric of Western societies, particularly as they affect the psyches and lives of women.  And several pieces are reactions to current social and political currents.

Aphrodite (Amazon After the War), Persephone's Choice and The Amazons and the Hydra are a few of the works in the show.

Recursive and Suspension are in the "Ta-Da!" Show at Buttonwood Art Space. The artists reception will be Friday, March 1 from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
